So yesterday was the CRAZIEST day. Working from home is such an awesome opportunity, but when you have computer issues it's kind of a pain. I work for an online Christian academy teaching high school science, and I absolutely love it. But yesterday, I couldn't get my computer to turn on more than a black screen. I tried everything (and I'm pretty computer savvy). I spent about 3-4 hours on my own trying to troubleshoot problems, went to Geek Squad at Best Buy, spent a ton of time there to realize there were only going to do what I definitely could do on my own to back home when I came to the realization that my computer was just dead. I could salvage what I had, but it wasn't going to be a usable machine outside of safe mode. Bummer about my job is that I don't have a company provided device, so I ended up having to shell out some money we were saving for a nursery on a new computer.
We had a Lenovo ThinkPad and we just went ahead and upgraded to a Mac Book Pro. I'm expecting to get flustered with myself as I make the change to an Apple Computer instead of a Windows machine. Looks like everything is good for work now, but the new laptop doesn't have a CD drive and I can't download my little tablet device to use as a notepad for my live discussions/office hours with students. So, will have to get one of those this weekend. All in all, it was a pretty great day, and luckily we keep an emergency fund for things like this, but we were hoping to not use it. Definitely not going anywhere for our anniversary now...which is fine, we are so close to the beach and Orlando, we can just pick something a little closer.
Today, I'm wearing the outfit posted above because I need to WORK. I usually save the majority of my grading for Thursday & Friday because that's when students tend to be the least active in their coursework. However, I lost the whole day yesterday, so I need to grind out some major work on grading lab reports and other projects. Need to feel like a teacher today at my desk.
:)
Happy Friday & Have a great weekend! Here are some other lace/crochet items that I'm loving!
