Growing up, my mom always told me that I should save on staples and spend on trends or items that I wouldn't be able to find in another store. While I won't totally debunk my mom's theory, I will say that basic staples are staples for a reason. They will be pieces that you wear over and over, so the quality should warrant lots of wear. This outfit is all pretty basic, no earth shattering trends, no bold fashion choices, but I feel put together for a casual date with my husband. Green and Yellow are two of my favorite colors to mix, and this outfit really lets those shine!
Sure, you could find a plain kelly green tee pretty much anywhere, and could probably score one for under $10. But I love this top (excuse the wrinkles!) from J.Crew Factory (which, is still quite a deal). It is basic enough to pair with almost anything, but is a nice quality with some fun sleeve details. Basic price? Sure. Basic Top? Not so much! Really, it doesn't matter to me if something from Target or Saks, as long as it is a quality piece. I prefer to find quality pieces at affordable prices! Most items on this blog, whether something I own or something I offer as a similar option will be kept below $100. I generally make excepts for nice dresses, purses, and shoes :)
Here are some other green/yellow items I'm currently loving!
